Tim Fries: Head Coach
Coach Fries completed his 10th season as head coach of the Vikings. His 10 consecutive seasons are the most by any coach in Miamisburg’s boys basketball history. He holds the record for most wins and most games coached. Coach Fries has twice been named GWOC South Coach of the Year and led Miamisburg to a league championship in 2014.
Rex Gardecki: Varsity Assistant
Coach Gardecki has been involved in basketball nearly his entire life. He was a stellar high school player that set numerous records at Miamisburg High School. After being recruited nationally he signed with the University of Dayton and played under legendary Flyers coach Don Donoher. Coach Gardecki has coached both high school and college and was a long time assistant to Dan Garhardt at West Carrollton High School. Since returning to MHS 8 seasons ago Coach Gardecki has been named OHSAA District 15 Coach of the Year twice.
Chris Johnson: Varsity Assistant
Coach Johnson has been a varsity assistant at MHS for the past eight seasons. Prior to coming to Miamisburg Coach Johnson was an assistant at Dayton Christian High School where he helped the team make it to the OHSAA State Championship.
Steffan Crowe: Junior Varsity Head Coach
Coach Crowe serves as the program’s head JV coach. Prior to taking over the JV last season, Coach Crowe coached the Freshman team. In his time at Miamisburg Coach Crowe has coached tennis, football, track, and lacrosse. Coach Crowe is a PE Instructor at MHS. He is a key contributor to our players’ off season development.
John Giles: Freshman Head Coach
Coach Giles had a standout career as a player for the Vikings. A two-time team captain John was also named First Team All GWOC South his senior year and Co-MVP that season. John heads up player development for Miamisburg Basketball, as well as, serving at the head Freshman coach.
